How It Works
Hybrid Training Model: In-studio hours at The Edge Pilates, led virtually by Sara from Berlin, paired with self-paced online modules.
Hands-On Local Support: While Sara leads the training, Niki (The Edge Pilates) provides in-person mentorship and feedback — ensuring you have both expert eyes and hands-on guidance.
Comprehensive Experience: Observation, practice teaching, and assistant teaching hours are completed at The Edge and select local studios — exposing you to privates, duets, and group formats.
Mentorship & Test-Out: Sara stays connected virtually throughout your journey and personally oversees your test-out. Upon completion, you’ll be eligible to sit for the NPCP exam, the gold standard in Pilates certification.

What Past Students Say
FAQs
-
Not at all! We encourage all students to listen to their bodies and do what movements are appropriate and best for them while also understanding how to teach all levels of movement to all levels of movers.
-
Payment plans are not currently available for individual modules. However, you can purchase modules one at a time or take advantage of a discount when buying multiple modules together. See details below.
-
Absolutely. This training prepares you fully to start teaching private clients or classes.
-
Typically, 2-5 months for the Mat Training and 5-12+ months for the full comprehensive certificate.
-
Definitely. Even if you’ve done Pilates for years, there’s so much more to learn and apply. During the first weekend of the training, many people realize they’ve been doing Pilates “wrong” for years. So this is a great way to take your personal practice and understanding of your body to the next level while doing something really great for yourself!
-
No. The Mat module is a required pre-requisite for starting your Pilates Instructor journey. Each apparatus (Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, etc.) builds off of what you learn in Mat-work. Mat-work is where the magic begins!
All Mat In-Studio days (or recordings) need to be attended before beginning the Reformer training, but you do not need to have tested-out of the Mat module to continue on to the Reformer module.
If you’ve previously completed a Mat training somewhere else and would like to continue your training with our Reformer and/or Apparatus modules, please email sara@pilatesalchemist.com and we’ll make sure your previous training meets the standards necessary to continue with the additional modules.
-
As part of this training, you’ll have access to an onsite, qualified NPCP-certified teacher as well as other partnering, local studio owners, in addition to your Master Trainer, who will provide organized practice and teaching opportunities, ensuring you’ll get through all of your hours without delay.
You’ll also get to experience two different teaching environments. One in a larger group class, boutique studio setting, and another in a more intimate setting with private clients and/or duets at a studio located within a Physical Therapy clinic.
-
Yes. Those who would like to complete the training but are not local can attend virtually. If you have further questions about attending virtually, please contact Sara at sara@pilatesalchemist.com.
-
Ideally you are able to attend each day live. If you need to miss a weekend, all in-studio days are recorded and uploaded to your online portal so you can watch them before your next in-studio dates.
-
Yes, we do our best to offer a “bundle” discount. You can bundle the Mat and Reformer modules together, Reformer and Apparatus trainings together, or the full Comprehensive training, which includes Mat, Reformer, Chair, Cadillac/Tower, Ladder Barrel, and Spine Corrector modules.
The bundle discounts are only available for a limited time. If you want to take advantage of the discount, you simply need to sign-up for the remaining modules you’d like to add by the last In-Studio day of the respective training.
For example, to receive the Mat & Reformer bundle price you’ll need to sign-up for the Reformer module by the last In-Studio session of the Mat module, and for the Comprehensive bundle price, you’ll need to register for the remaining modules by the last In-Studio session of the Reformer module.
Upon completion, you’ll receive your Pilates Alchemy certificate and be eligible to sit for the National Pilates Certification Program (NPCP) exam — opening doors to teach worldwide in studios, gyms, wellness centers, and more.
